Page 15 <br />80.POTABLE WATER SERVICE. This property is currently served by three existing water meters <br />(Meter #58062625, 58052838, and 58062693). Removal of existing water meters that will be <br />permanently decommissioned shall be performed by City staff. The applicant shall contact the <br />City’s Utility Billing Department at 925-931-5500 or osd@cityofpleasantonca.gov to initiate the <br />meter removal process. Any outstanding water consumption charges must be paid in full prior <br />to the meter removal as well as all fees associated with the disconnection. Fee credits will be <br />offered for the removed meter when new water services are requested. <br />The City purchases potable water wholesale from Zone 7 Water Agency. Fees are due to both <br />the City of Pleasanton and Zone 7 for new connections to the pipe network. Said fee amounts <br />appear in the City’s Adopted Master Fee Schedule. For more information about water usage in <br />Pleasanton, refer to Pleasanton Municipal Code Title 14. <br />Capacity in the City’s water network to serve the subject development must be verified by running <br />a scenario in the City’s network computer model. The computer model is operated by a consultant <br />retained by the City. The consultant will run the scenario and then issue a report with their findings. <br />The applicant shall fund this effort and address any discovered network deficiencies that are <br />directly attributable to the development. <br />All permanent connections to the City’s potable water network shall conform to Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code §14.04.050. Any required water pressure and/or flow needed by the applicant <br />beyond that available from the network at the point-of-connection must be provided by the <br />applicant as a private improvement on the customer side of the meter or backflow prevention <br />device. All extensions or upgrades to the potable water network shall be designed to satisfy the <br />following minimum standards: (Address this condition prior to issuance of any Building Permits) <br />a) Minimum number of valves: <br />(1) 3 at cross intersections <br />(2) 2 at “T” intersections <br />(3) 500 feet maximum spacing <br />(4) 1 valve at each fire hydrant lateral <br />(5) Pressure regulating valve station required between pressure zones <br />b) Minimum number of fire hydrants (subject to approval by Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br />Department (LPFD) Fire Marshal: <br />(1) 1 hydrant within 250 feet of any existing or proposed structure <br />(2) 2 hydrants within 500 feet of any multi-family residential <br />c) Minimum pipe size: 8-inch diameter <br />d) Minimum depth of cover over pipe: 42 inches <br />e) Blowoff requirements: <br />(1) At all dead ends whether temporary or permanent <br />(2) At all low points in the line <br />f) Maximum flow velocity: 10 feet per second (fps)
