Lengthen the eastbound Dublin Canyon Road <br />left-turn lane next to the median by <br />narrowing the existing 18-foot wide median. <br />No additional right-of-way is required. The <br />purpose of this improvement is to more fully <br />utilize all left-turn lanes by reducing the <br />possibility of one lane being blocked. Green <br />time at the traffic signal will be reduced <br />for this movement by creating a more even <br />distribution of traffic across the left-turn <br />lanes. <br />B. stoneridae Drive/Stoneridae Mall Road <br />1. Restripe one of the through lanes on <br />westbound stoneridge Drive to create an <br />optional through and right-turn lane. The <br />curb return on the northeast corner should be <br />modified to facilitate this maneuver. This <br />will require right-of-way acquisition. The <br />purpose of this improvement is to shorten the <br />queue for westbound traffic turning right <br />into the stoneridge Mall area and thereby <br />reduce the amount of green time required. <br />The westbound right turn is a critical <br />movement during the a.m. and p.m. peak hours. <br />It is expected that right turning vehicles <br />will dominate this lane. The need for one <br />additional westbound lane was evaluated and <br />determined to be unnecessary based on no <br />change in the vOlume-to-capacity ratio. <br />2. Restripe the southbound Stoneridge Mall Road <br />right-turn lane to provide an optional right- <br />turn and left-turn lane at this "T" <br />intersection. This will spread the critical <br />southbound left-turn movement over three <br />lanes instead of two lanes, thereby reducing <br />the amount of green time necessary to clear <br />the queue. In addition, there is a need to <br />retrofit the signal controller to include an <br />emergency vehicle preemption capability since <br />a City of Pleasanton Fire station is located <br />nearby. <br />BXHIBIT D <br />page 2 of 3
