Vehicular and Bike Parking – Location and Treatments <br /> <br /> <br />Fig. 4: Surface Parking Lot Design Standard at Adjacent Property <br />Development Standards: <br />All Sites <br />B5.1 Vehicular parking shall be provided as at-grade parking located behind buildings, understructure, or <br />as structured parking located partially or fully underground. Parcels narrower than 60 feet in width or <br />smaller than 5,000 square feet shall be exempted from rear or underground parking. <br />B5.2 Partially underground garages shall not extend greater than 36 inches above the adjacent grade. <br />B5.3 Parking that is partially underground shall be screened with architectural elements that enhance the <br />streetscape such as stoops, balcony overhangs, or decorative screening. <br />B5.4 Where vehicular parking is proposed on grade adjacent to Public Streets, parking shall be screened <br />from the back of sidewalk by a buffer using a combination of all of the following methods: <br />a. A minimum seven-foot-wide planting strip. <br />b. Solid low walls not to exceed four feet in height. <br />c. Trees planted at an average spacing of 25 feet on center, a dense hedge, or ornamental grasses. <br />B5.5 Driveway width shall be limited to 10 feet for one-way driveways and 18 feet for bi-direction access. <br />Parking aisle width shall conform with Chapter 18.88 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code.
