April 1, 2021
Dear Members of the Planning Commission,
I am writing to encourage you to support the proposal from the Resurrection Greek Orthodox
Church (RGOC) to move to Pleasanton and locate at the Dublin Canyon Road site.
I and my family are long time residents of Pleasanton since 1974 and reside in the Stoneridge
area. I am familiar with a number of families from this Church and they are very good people
who will benefit from the location of their Church in Pleasanton. Additionally, they will be of a
great benefit to Pleasanton since they are known to contribute a positive presence in the
communities they locate.
The RGOC has many positive qualities that they will bring to Pleasanton, Their commitment to
the family unit is unquestionable. They offer many family events, recreational opportunities,
social events, and parenting groups for the benefit of all in the community. They will represent
a positive spiritual and law abiding presence that will be acceptable to all..... especially during
these trying times we are living in today.
There are many RGOC families that live in the Pleasanton and surrounding areas and a new
Church in this area will provide a wonderful place for all their members and friends to meet,
socialize and worship. I believe this will be a very positive benefit to all concerned.
I have also seen the renderings of the proposed RGOC Church and its Byzantine architectural
design which I feel will enhance the property on which it will be built.
Thank you for your consideration of reading this support for the RGOC proposal. I hope you will
support the RGOC proposal and make the dreams of many family members come true.
Sincerely,
James M. Lotz
Pleasanton, CA 94546
