Jennifer Hagen
From:
To: PSteente MAnantPan ft
Subject: Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church
Planning Commission
City of Pleasanton
April 2, 2021
Dear Members of the Pleasanton Planning Commission,
Twenty years ago, I stood before the then Pleasanton Planning Commission with the hope of
facilitating the move of the Livermore Valley Jewish Community Center (dba Congregation
Beth Emek) from Livermore to Nevada Court in Pleasanton. We had outgrown our space on
College Avenue and M Street in Livermore and had worked with property owners Konrad
Rickenbach and Frank Auf der Maur to purchase a two -acre tract in Pleasanton just south of
Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue.
The Planning Commission granted our request to change the Zoning of the Property from
Commercial/Retail to Religious Institutions.
We are very grateful to the Planning Commission and to the City Council for processing our
applications and working with us to enable the move to Pleasanton. Our Congregation has
flourished in the community and we hopefully have added much value to the City.
I have reviewed the beautiful visual renderings of the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church of
Castro Valley, which is hoping for a similar move to Pleasanton. I believe their Campus on
Dublin Canyon Road would add to the beauty of the City and enhance the multi -cultural
diversity that we enjoy.
I strongly support their application and hope you will approve the proposal and facilitate their
move to Pleasanton.
Sincerely,
Bob Russman
Pleasanton 94566
