THE CITY OF
East Pleasanton Specific Plan _._rIsis
Public Comments pLEASANTONC
malls and vacant industrial land would be a able to automatically be built out to the maximum
allowable commercial land use designation or to this new senior housing overlay residential
designation.
That would mean that any commercial property would also have "by right" zoning to allow
residential housing to be built on it using this senior overlay. It also would exempt any senior
housing from affordable housing requirements.
Naturally the residents of San Jose were outraged and defeated this ballot measure (Measure
B).
Why is the City Council even contemplating turning the leadership role of a Specific Plan in
Pleasanton to a developer who just last year tried to bypass CEQA and planning regulations
and circumvent traffic fees in San Jose as well as change the entire GP to allow residential in all
commercially zoned properties in San Jose?
Sincerely,
Anne Fox
1
Provided to City Council for the February 18, 2020, Meeting 30
