Item 6g
Consideration of July 1st meeting date. (SR 03:159)

Deborah McKeehan presented the staff report for this item.

There was some discussion about how heavy the schedule was for future agenda and it
was noted Mr. Campbell would be out of the country that week.

It was moved by Mayor Pico, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to cancel the July 1st City
Council meeting.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Ms. Hosterman requested an update report from the Pleasanton Energy Committee. She
recognized Mrs. Linfoot's eloquent statement regarding the USA Patriot Act.

Ms. Ayala requested an agenda item regarding the memo concerning membership in
DSRSD and whether the City wanted to go through the procedure.

Mayor Pico was willing to discuss the issue, but was uncertain whether it would go
anywhere.

Ms. Ayala requested reconsideration of the adjustment to the lower income housing fee.
There was not support by a majority of Council to reconsider the action.

Mayor Pico did not feel the fee was a significant impact on housing prices. He believed
the City needed to do whatever was necessary to build the affordable housing fund.

Mr. Brozosky referred to the preannexation agreement for the Happy Valley area. He
noted a resident who desires to connect to the sewer system but was concerned about the
language that said the owner could not protest annexation. He wondered if Council would
consider changing the language for this resident to say he would not protest annexation when the
bypass road is constructed.

Mayor Pico said there is no intent to force a property owner to annex to the City.

Pleasanton City Council 25
Minutes

06/03/03
