(SR00:167) <br /> <br />Mr. Fialho presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mike Oliver, staff consultant for Pleasanton Garbage Service, briefly discussed <br />the rate proposal. Pleasanton Garbage Service is a family owned company, purchased in <br />1969 and it has a franchise that has approximately 19 years left to ran. PGS began <br />working with city staff almost a year ago on the rate adjustment proposal. The way that <br />the City Council has established rate adjustments is that the company is required to <br />complete an audit and li>r a period of about a year a rate adjustment is put together, <br />reviewed with city staff and then to City Calmell. The company provides straight <br />ti>rward refi. kse pickup and processing disposal for both residential and commercial <br />custmners; provides a green waste pickup and processing and disposal service to <br />residential customers: operates the transfer station; and provides commercial service. <br />The rate increase is necessary to covcr the costs that have been incurred for operations, <br />plus salaries, benefits, insurance, operations, costs for equipment maintenance, fuel, and <br />the basic damp costs, which are called regulatory fees, have gone up over the last 3 <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 34 06/20/00 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
