The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> }~yor Philcox recessed the meeting at 11:45 P.M. <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 11:55 P.M. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS (Contd.) <br />Consideration of Preliminary Budget_for City of Pleasanton for 1977-78 <br /> ~yor Philcox stated that it was now in order to hear public testimony <br />regarding the Preliminary Budget for the City of Pleasanton for 1977-78. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Dorie Robinson, representing the League of Women Voters, requested that <br />funds be allocated in the Budget for Advance Planning and Safety Element of the <br />General Plan. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that the Valley Volunteer Bureau requested that <br />funds be allocated to support their Program, and that Darla Stevens requested <br />assistance for her local programming on Tele-Vue Systems. <br /> <br /> No further action was taken on this item. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Request from Pleas~ton Garbage Service for a Garbage Rate Increase <br /> }~yor Philcox declared this item continued to the meeting of May 23, 1977, <br />as agreed to by Pleasanton Garbage Service in a letter from William Hirst, <br />Attorney,.dated May 6, 1977. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS A~ COMMISSIONS <br />Approval of Human Services Commission Needs Assessment questionnaire <br /> Mr. Caporusso presented the report of the Human Services Commission dated <br />May 5, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes objected to questions on pages 8 and 9 of the <br />Questionnaire, because he felt they were of a confidential nature. Council- <br />member LeClaire stated that answers to these questions were necessary for the <br />overall needs assessment determinations. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mercer, approving the Needs Assessment Questionnaire of the <br />Human Services Commission, with the addition of a sentence in the Introduction <br />to make it clear that the public is not required to answer any question they <br />do not desire to. <br /> <br /> 6. 5/9/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
