There being no further public testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Considerable Council discussion ensued regarding the need for efficient <br />ambulance service in Pleasanton, appropriate location, traffic hazards, County <br />contract commitment, home occupation ordinance and zoning. Councilmember Le- <br />Claire stated she felt the ambulance service should be considered in the same <br />category as police and fire service and, therefore, exempt from the Home <br />Occupation Ordinance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 77-131, denying the appeal of Tri-Cities Ambulance, Inc., <br />to a decision of the Planning Commission denying a home occupation permit to <br />allow the retention of an ambulance service in a single family residence located <br />at 6264 Guyson Court, be adopted. <br />Th~ roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember LeClaire <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox recessed the meeting at 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 9:55 P.M. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS (Contd.) <br />Application of the Planning Commission for Morrison Homes for a development plan <br />to allow the construction of 65 single family homes on a rou~hl~ 23-acre parcel <br />of land located on the south side of the Del Valle ParkwaZ immediately east Of <br />Hopyard Road; zoning for ~he property is PUD (Planned Unit Development~ Medium <br />Density Residential) <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated May 2, 1977, regarding this matter, <br />stating that the Environmental Impact Report would have to be considered before <br />a decision was made on the project but that the public hearing on the Environ- <br />mental Impact Report and project could occur simultaneously. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open on the Environmental Impact <br />Report and the development plan. <br /> <br /> The following person spoke in favor of the Environmental Impact Report and <br />application: <br /> <br /> Woody Peteira, representing Morrison Homes. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to the Environmental Impact Report <br />and application: <br /> <br /> Ron Morrow, 4593 Del Valle Parkway <br /> Janis Opdahl, 4599 Del Valle Parkway <br /> James M.
