259 <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer indicated that the sign ought to be descriptive of <br />the center and have other businesses on it besides the three major <br />ones. He supported the directional signs inside the parking lot <br />and agreed with Mr. Brandes and Mr. Tarver to have the applicant <br />come back with something better. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that <br />Resolution No. 89-354 be adopted, upholding the appeal and denying <br />Case Z-88-581, application of Burger King Corporation for design <br />approval to install an internally-illuminated monument <br />identification sign at an existing shopping center located on the <br />northeast corner of Hopyard Road and Owens Drive. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes and Tarver and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Butler and Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6b <br />Application of Ray Seronello for proposed regrading approval on a <br />vacant single-family lot located at 3088 Crestablanca Drive <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer indicated that he and Mr. Butler would have to <br />abstain on this item because of a conflict of interest. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 89:371) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brandes declared the public hearing open on the <br />application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ray Seronello, 3088 Crestablanca Drive, stated that he <br />would answer any inquiries the Council might have. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brandes asked Mr. Seronello if he had already started <br />regrading his lot. <br /> <br /> Mr. Seronello replied that he had not and that he was not <br />applying for a building permit until this was approved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Piendak requested some information on the plans of <br />regrading the area. Mr. Swift provided this information. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Brandes declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr commented that the proposal would not increase the <br />height of the proposed house on the lot and would have no visible <br />impact to the adjacent lots; it would, moreover, be an asset to <br />the property owner and an overall improvement in the area. <br /> <br /> -8- <br /> <br /> 8-15-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
