Commissioner Arkin would like to see all current applications that did not want to wait <br />for tltc new General Plan be subject to the new amendment. <br />Chairperson Maas did not believe that would be necessary. <br />Ms_ Nerland suggested checking with City Council to ensure this review was consistent <br />with its priorities for Platirting staff. She suggested that this review be folded into the <br />General Plan Updates worlc_ <br />SB-1334 <br />Commissioner Roberts noted the California Oak Foundation site had. a number of <br />ordinances dealing with oak woodland habitat. Shc noted that SB-1334, which was <br />signed in September 2004, included some oak woodland language in CEQA. She noted <br />that a number of county grid city ordinances protected oak woodlands as entities rather <br />than through the Heritage 'free ordinance. She would like to agendize a discussion of <br />that issue. <br />Commissioner Blank moved to agcndize a discussion of the California Oak <br />Foundation discussion_ <br />Commissioner Arkin seconded the motion_ <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES. Commissioners Arkin, Blarilc, Maas, and Roberts. <br />NOES _ None. <br />ABSTAIN= None. <br />RECUSED: None_ <br />ABSENT: Comirtissioner Fox. <br />The motion passed. <br />Ms. Decker noted that the information would be presented prior to request for any action <br />and that much of the information would be available online. <br />"Just Tires" Si~na~e <br />Ms. Decker noted that the Commission reque stcd additional information from staff <br />regarding the "Just Tires" window signage. She indicated that an insert was included in <br />the packet regarding this item and added that the approval for the temporary window <br />signs will expire on April 23, 2005. Sgt. Jeff Bretzing, Senior Code Enforcement <br />O fFicer, determined that there was more signage thatz allowed by the Commission's <br />approval; he sent a letter to "Just Tires" management advising them that the additional <br />signage must be removed_ She described the Code Enforcement process and noted that <br />the City had a policy of sending a letter three times in response to non-compliance, prior <br />to a C=ode Compliance action; a $1,000 fine is possible in the worst-case scenario. <br />PLANNING COMMIS SiON MINUTES April 7, 2005 Page 13 of 15 <br />
