Subject FW: Lund Ranch II City Council Hearing, Nov 17
From: Jim
Sent: Tuesday, November 17, 2015 8:59 AM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Lund Ranch II City Council Hearing, Nov 17
Sent with AquaMail for Android
Dear City Council, my name is Jim Conzen. I've been a resident of Pleasanton for 25 years
comer of Arlene Place and Independence Drive.
;p W)PLErJ1Er•.■T.L MATERIAL
,'fwlc9;c+
to the City Council
After Distribution of Packet
Date
//-/7-1C
I currently live on Arlene Place - on the
As I will be out of town, I will not be able to attend the meeting on the referenced subject on Nov 17th. I did however want to state my
strong view and recommendation on this subject.
Junipero Blvd was built many many years ago. The connected Mission Hills Park has also been there for a very long time. The
current/existing traffic flow on Junipero can hardly be handled with the current street design. The significant S curve near the park and
with parking on both sides of the street make it an already challenging course to get through and avoid congestion and pedestrian,
children playing, and pet crossings. It is already a high density traffic flow and somewhat dangerous situation with kids, pets, families,
etc. making constant use of the area. If this street is opened up to more traffic and congestion - it WILL become a SAFETY matter. The
streets were not designed, made, approved, or planned for anything close to the additional traffic that's proposed to come through
there.
The planned neighborhood for Lund Ranch II should be directed down Sycamore Ave. This was always included in the original (and
City approved) plans for this area. The streets are wide and straight and much better suited to handle the significantly planned increase
of traffic due to the additional homes. This Sycamore route has better access to 680 and will also not interfere with the additional traffic
also headed to the Raley's shopping area down Junipero.
Junipero can not really handle well the current flow of traffic that it was planned, built, and designed to handle. It's beyond its capacity
already !Sycamore WAS designed, approved, and built to handle the proposed additional traffic flow for Lund Ranch. It just makes good
common sense.
If there's any doubt about this - you should go out there and look at it for yourself 1111 It's very obvious once you actually see it !!
I strongly support the initiative to have the additional traffic flow from Lund Ranch II be directed down Sycamore and not Junipero.
Its a matter of SAFETY and DOING THE RIGHT THING for our community.
Regards, Jim Conzen
Click here to report this email as spam.
