X 92? <br />Councilman - Amaral queried the Clerk as to whether Joe M. Rose Jr. had settled with the <br />town for the' "fire-fighting junk "' he had secured. The Clerk reported that Mr: Rose had <br />been contacted but no reply had been heard. <br />The Clerk reminded the Council of the special meeting on-September 13th at which time" <br />the tax rate for the year 1937=38 will be set,. <br />There being no'-further business-the meeting a.djoourned at 10:05 o'clock to meet in <br />regular session, Monday evening, October 4th at 7:30 o'clock. <br />Pleasanton, California, September 139 1937• <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in special session on Monday eveiing, <br />September 13th at 8 o'clock with Acting Mayor-Ambrose xivolta presiding: Present 'at <br />roll call were Councilmen Olesen, Madsen and Hivolta: Councilmen Amaral and Orloff were <br />absent: <br />The Acting Mayor stated that the meeting had been called to set the tax rate for the <br />year 1937 -38. A short discussion among the Councilmen followed during which it was consider- <br />ed advisable to allow the tax rate to remain as it had been.for the year 1936 -37 or $1:40 <br />per hundred but to make some changes in the division of.the rate. On motion of Council- <br />man Madsen, seconded by Councilman Olesen and with all the councilmen present in favor of <br />same, Resolution No. 1624 was adopted. The resulotion read as - follows: <br />"Whereas the ordinances of the Town of Pleasanton in accordance with the State Law, <br />require that the Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton meet on the second Monday of <br />September and at that time fix the rate for town taxes, designating the number of cents <br />on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation levied for each fund and must then levy <br />the town taxes upon the taxable property in town;" <br />"'NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council of Pleasanton, in session on the <br />evening of September 139 19370 do hereby fix and declare the rate for taxes for the various <br />funds of the Town of Pleasanton for the year 1937 -38 as follows:" <br />"The sum of Eighty cents (80X), on each one hundred. dollars of assessed valuation to <br />be levied against all taxable property in the Town of Pleasanton, to be placed in the <br />General Fund;" <br />"The sum of Seven C74 on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation to be <br />levied against all taxable property in the Town of Pleasanton, to be placed in the dater <br />Bond Redemption p'und";' <br />"The sum of Twenty (20g) cents on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation to be <br />levied against all taxable property in the Town of Pleasanton to be placed in the ]Municipal <br />Improvement Bond Fund" <br />"The sum of Thirty -three (33¢) cents on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation <br />to be levied against all taxable property in the Town of Pleasanton to be placed in the <br />1929 Municipal Improvement Bond Fund" <br />11, Taking a total tax ratefor the Town of Pleasanton One Dollar and Forty cents ($1.40) <br />on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of all taxable property -" <br />'rAnd be it further resolved that the tax collector be and he is hereby empowered. and <br />directed to collect taxes for the Town of Pleasanton at the rates set forth herein and in <br />the manner and at the times provided by law. "' <br />"Adopted and passed by the Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton, California, this <br />l3.th day of" September, 1937 on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by Uouncilman Olesen <br />and with the following votes:" <br />"AYES: COUNCILMEN Madsen,- Rivolta and Olesen." <br />"NOES: NONE" <br />"ABSENT': COUNCILMEN Amaral and Orloff." <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8;:30 o'clock to meet in regular <br />session, Monday evening, October 4th at 7:30 P,-,.U- , <br />Approv C`ler <br />Ac i, y <br />
