1218 <br />would be- very well advanced and the entire job completed very.sho rtly. <br />The'Clerk, then brought up the- matter'of the Annual financial Statement of -the Town <br />of Pleasanton for the period ending June 30', 1937: Acting Mayor Rivolta had a few questions <br />to ask the Clerk concerning the: curb and gutter project accounts and delinquent taxes. <br />After these questions had been answered by the Clerk, Acting Mayor Rivolta expressed <br />appreciation for the completeness of the report. Councilman Olesen had some questions <br />with regards assessments etc. and after these were answered he expressed appreciation <br />for the detailed report. Councilman Amaral had nothing to say. <br />Acting .Mayor Rivolta took up the matter of gasoline money received-from the State <br />for street improvements. He queried the Ulerk with regards to whether any further advice <br />had been received as regards money available. The Clerk advised that no recent reports <br />had been been received from the State. It was ordered that the Clerk should take up.the <br />matter with City Engineer'John'Mancini and have'him query the department with regards the <br />matter. <br />The following resolutions were then presented <br />Resolution No. 1620 -- Authorizing the payment -of the sa]aries of the municipal officers <br />for the month of July and amountingto $770.00. This resolution <br />was adopted on motion of Councilman Amaral-9 seconded by Council- <br />man Olesen and with all the Councilmen present voting in favor of <br />s ame'. <br />resolution No. 1621 -- Authorizing and instructing the Clerk to cancel License No. 15 -- <br />Crivello Brothers Fish Co., dated July 1, 1937 -- $16.00 as <br />deliveries were discontinued on June 30, 1937.. This resolution <br />was adopted on motion of touncilman Amaral, seconded by Council - <br />Van Olesen and with all the Councilmen present voting in favor <br />of same. <br />The Clerk then presented the one year contract of the Pacific'Gas 8c Blectric Company <br />for street lighting and including: <br />57 - 100 candlepower lamps without refractors <br />2 - 250 ff, w i th q, It <br />i - 400 lamp :: « r: <br />2'2 - 600 " ornamental brackets <br />The contract was ordered signed by the acting Mayor and the Clerk on motion of council- <br />man Amaral seconded by Councilman Olesen and with all the Councilmen present in favor <br />of same. <br />The Clerk then presented the assessment roll of the Town..of Pleasanton of° Pleasanton <br />completed as of-July 30th and was accepted by the Council. I•t was ordered that the <br />Council should meet and organize as a Board of .Nquali-zation on Monday evening, August 9th <br />and remain in session until 8:30 and if all the business of the meeting was..not completed <br />that they should meet on the following night at the same hour for such succeeding nights <br />as might be required. The customary'notice of this meeting etc. was order published. <br />Fire Chief Letham spoke to the Council and recommended the sale of the chassis on <br />the Star Fire Truck, stating that he had a buyer for same at 6100.00 and also that a ray <br />truck was being contemplated by,the Farm Bureau committee. Councilman Olesen advised <br />keeping the truck if it could be used by some other department. Councilman Rivolta felt <br />it might be well to do so proving same was to advantage. After some discussion among <br />the Councilmen the matter was laid over until the special meeting. Councilman Amaral" <br />took up the matter of disposing the truck which is registered in the name of the town <br />of Pleasanton and the method of proceedure and after a discussion on the matter he <br />stated that he would take up same with the City Attorney. <br />There being no further business the meeting a ourned at X30 to meet in special <br />session, Monday evening, August 9th at 8 o''clock.// <br />Pleasanton•, California, August 9. 1937: <br />The Town Council,of th "own of 'Pleasanton was called to order at 7:30 o'clock on <br />the above written date--_w1 nO-esen, yor_Ainbarose _ Rivolta presiding. - Present at roll call were <br />Councilmen Madsen A , <br />e , maral, and Rivolta. Councilman Orlgt f was absent. <br />Acting Mayor Rivolta stated that the meeting had been called to consider the matter <br />of decorating the streets of Pleasanton during the Fieta at the town's expense and also <br />with regards.to waiving carnival license to-be charged. Also that the fire truck matter, <br />would be further heard: <br />Messrs. Trimingham and Alameda of the Fiesta committee stated to the Council that they <br />did not wish the money from the City to pay.for the decorating of the streets and the city <br />hall, which would aggregate $100.00 but that they wished the town to take care of this <br />work and pay for same. Mr. Alameda stated Stith regards to the waiving of the carnival <br />license, that he felt a small carnival company would be secured and if the license =would <br />
