At the conclusion of same, the Clerk asked-permission to address the <br />..Councilmen as president of the Fiesta del vino Association and same was granted. Mr. <br />Schween asked that the Council waive the matter of a carnival license',being- charged <br />and p -ermit the Association to take care of the street decorations. "On motion of <br />Councilman Amaral, seconded by Uouncilman Olesen and with all the councilmen in favor <br />of same it was ordered-that the usual carnival-license be waived and that the request <br />-that the City take • care of the., decorations- for l the Fiesta not be considered. <br />Councilman Amaral queried Fire Chief Letham_ with regards to the truck and later <br />advised that it was being planed to dispose of the entire truck or to apply same cin <br />the- new 'truck to be purchased. Mr. Letham further advised that the Farm Bureau had <br />definitely decided -to purchase a GMC Chassis and that same would shortly be received. <br />The matter of a resolution covering the-disposing of a certain Star+Fleetruek was then <br />introduced by Councilman Amaral. Resolution No 1622 providing for the..transfer af.- <br />title to said truck to such person or persons as may be designated as the Pleasanton <br />Township Fire Patrol was passed on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by Councilman <br />Amaral and with all the-councilmen in favor of same. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:4V o'clock to meet <br />in regular session, Tuesday evening, September--7th at 8 o'clock. <br />t"A 4 d14 q4 <br />Approved: <br />Clerk <br />Pleasanton, California, August 23, 1937• <br />1219. <br />The Town Council of the flown of Pleasanton was called to order at 7:30 o'clock <br />in special session, with acting Jayor Ambrose Rivolta presiding. Present at roll call <br />were C'ouncilmen-Madsen, Amaral, Olesen, and Rivolta. Councilman Orloff was absent. <br />The Clerk stated -that he had asked the mayor to call the special meeting in order <br />to The <br />an .endorsement on'the` holding of an Alameda County Fair in 1938- The Clerk <br />stated that practically all of the communities in the county, through their civic <br />organizations, had passed such endorsements and that sincePleasanton had a good opportunity <br />of -securing the fair; that the Council should go on record as endorsing the proposition <br />in order that a letter might -be forwarded the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County <br />in regards to same. The Councilmen were unanimous that such an endorsement should be <br />passed and on motion of Councilman Amaral, seconded by Councilman Madsen and with all <br />the Councilmen in favor of same, it was ordered that the Clerk should draft a letter to <br />the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County setting forth that an Alameda County Fair <br />in 193$, had the endorsement-of the City Council of Pleasanton. <br />Acting Mayor Rivolta - brought up the matter of the Council participating in the <br />Fiesta del- Vino by entering a decorated car in the Fiesta parade on August 29t1a are, <br />acting on the reception committee over the holidays. It was, ordered that the Clerk <br />should prepare the necessary headquarters where the Council might receive distinguished <br />guests. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at'8 00 o'clock to meet <br />in regular session, Tuesday evening, September 7th a o'clock. <br />App ro ve d s <br />Clerk <br />yo ro tem <br />Pleasanton, California, August 9. 1937• <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order at 8:00 o'clock on <br />the abode-written date with acting Mayor Abrose Rivolta presiding. -Present at roll call <br />were Councilman Madsen,. Amaral, 0lesen and Rivolta. ' Councilman Orloff was absent. <br />The Clerk stated that the meeting had been called for the Council to organise as a <br />Board.of Equalization to elect a chairman and to hear such complaints as might be filed <br />in writing. He further stated that the customary notice of -the meeting had been published <br />that the board should remain in session until 8:30 o'clock and if no complaints were filed <br />that no further meetings would be required., <br />On motion of Councilman - Madsen , seconded by Councilman Amaral, and with Councilman <br />Olese.n approving, acting Mayor,Rivolta was selected as chairman of the Board. <br />There were no complaints received in writing. -No Tax payers appeared before the'Boasd, <br />The only bu- siness taken up,was a short discussion on assessments among the Board members. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:30 o'clock <br />regular session Tuesday evening, September 7t� �+ A•^^ <br />Approved: <br />-o-_ em <br />to meetiin <br />
