116: <br />Councilman Amaral of the Laws and Judiciary committee introduced Ordinance. No. <br />171, an Ordinance fixing the Compensation of Elective.Officers of the Town of <br />Pleasanton." Attorney Nilson explained with reference to the new ruling on <br />ordinances of this type and to the effect that the Council would have to adjourn <br />to a definite date for the second reading and discussion of same. Also to the effect <br />that if-there were any changes to be made that five days would be required after <br />th.e second reading of same ordinance. Accordingly the council decided to adjourn <br />to January 13th for the second reading of this ordinance. <br />Councilman Olesen of the Street and Building Committee reported that the <br />Women's Improvement Club had signified a willingness to spend X25.00 for the setting <br />out of trees this summer and he felt that the City Council should do the same. <br />He pointed out that certain trees had been removed from certain streets on account <br />of the curb and gutter work and accordingly the Council should arrange to replace <br />these 'trees. The Council was favorable to trees being secured at the proper time. <br />Mr. Olesen also spoke of a gutter,on Neal Street which needed improvement and same <br />was ordered. He also advised with regards to the slope wall project and which was <br />progressing with satisfaction. <br />The matter of cleaning up the Swear property on Division <br />taken up and the Clerk was instructed to communicate with Mr. <br />connection with same. Also the property of Cruikshank & Kolln <br />was ordered looked into since there was considerable equipment <br />and street from time to time. The matter was ordered taken up <br />in an effort to have same cleaned up. <br />Street was again <br />?rank Viada in <br />on Division Street <br />along the sidewalk <br />with Mr. Kolln <br />John A. Mancini reported on the improvement to be made on Division Street <br />and St. Marys Street through funds to be made available on the gas tax allotment. <br />He discussed what had taken place of recent date and of advice received from the <br />Division of Highways. He also spoke with r6ga.rds to secondary highway routes and <br />what would be available, viz. $1534.50 for the biennium and for the biennium <br />ending June 30, 1937 an additional of $1670.00. He also advised that to date <br />there was actually available $2154.30. He spoke with regards to statement presented <br />for professional services and to the effect that the Division of Highways would <br />be willing to consider same whenever same was presented. After some discussion <br />among the Councilmen Resolution No. 1573 was presented and on motion of Councilman <br />Amaral, seconded by Councilman Madsen and with all in favor of same it was ordered <br />that Mr. Mancini should receive $p130.00 from the municipality and that the Clerk <br />should present project statement to the Division of Highways in that amount and <br />collect same at his convenience. Mr. Mancini also spoke with reference to the <br />slope wall project and measurements and descriptions to be made in connection with <br />ce.r,tain deeds to be secured. After a short discussion among the Councilmen it <br />was ordered that Mr. Mancini should proceed at his earliest convenience.to make <br />such measurements and to draw up such descriptions as was needed. <br />The following resolutions were then presented: <br />Res.o-ution No. 1569 -- Authorizing the payment of the salaries of the municipal <br />officers and amounting to $745.00. <br />No. 1570 -- Termination of Services of C.A.Bruce as supervisor on sl.o.pewall <br />project. <br />No. 1571 -- Appointment of James Paulsen as supervisor on slopewall <br />project as of December 30, 1935• <br />No. 1572 -,- Authorizing and instructing the Clerk to draw a warrant on <br />the Town Treasurer in favor of T.H.Silver, Town Treasurer, <br />for the sum of $62.50 in payment of interest due on municipal <br />water bonds. <br />Action on the.ReaoT.utions were then taken as follows: <br />Resolution No. 1569 -- Adopted on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by Councilman <br />Ole'sen and with all the Councilmen present in favor of same. <br />No- 1570 -- Adopted on motion of Councilman.
