Section 14. Uniforms The City shall provide all necessary safety and protection clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The City shall provide fifty per- cent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for those employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. 14.1 Uniform Allowance Effective January 1, 1982, the uniform allowance shall be increased to Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per year, such allowance to be paid in one payment in April. Effective January 1, 1983, said uniform allowance shall be increased to Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per year. Section 15. Credit Union The City shall offer a voluntary payroll deduction option for those employees who wish to Join the City and County Employees Credit Union and/or Operating Engineers Credit Union for the purposes of trans- acting business with such credit unions. Section 16. Educational Incentive Pay Program 16.1 Purpose The purpose of this plan is to reward those eligible employees having obtained a specific level of educational achievement in an area re- lated to their job and, in so doing, have become better qualified to discharge the duties of their respective positiohs. 16.2 Eligible Applicants Persons eligible to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan have met all of the following requirements: Are permanent (non-probationary) employees with the City of Pleasanton. (Employees on probationary status as a result of promotions shall be deemed eligible under this plan.) Have met all requirements of their position as set forth in the City's Classification Plan in effect at the time the employee was hired. Intend to pursue an educational level related to his/her present position as determined by the Educational Standards Committee. All new employees hired by the City after the date of adoption by the City Council of this revised Educational Incentive Plan shall be eligible for -13-
