II. Retirement <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 1982, the city shall pay the employee's contribution <br />to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The amount of said city <br />payment shall equal but not exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's <br />compensation subject to retirement contributions. <br /> <br />Uniform <br /> <br />Effective April 1, 1982, the uniform allowance paid police lieutenants <br />shall be increasedto three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00) per year, <br />such allowance to be paid in one payment in April. Effective April 1, <br />1983, said uniform allowance shall be increased to four hundred dollars <br />($400.00) per year. <br /> <br />IV. Educational Incentive Pay Program <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 1982, the city shall implement an educational incen- <br />tive pay program, the specific provisions of which shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Eligible Applicants: Employees who have met the educational require- <br />ments of their classification and have successfully passed their pro- <br />bationary period may enroll in the educational incentive program. <br /> <br />Approved Fields of Study: The following fields of study are approved <br />for incentive pay: police administration or management, public admini- <br />stration, business administration or management, or administration of <br />Justice. <br /> <br />Enrollment: Employees wishing to enroll in the incentive plan must <br />first receive the written approval of the chief of police and the <br />assistant to the city manager. <br /> <br />Educational Levels/Pay: Employees having completed on their own time <br />and with a cumulative grade point average of "C" or better one of the <br />educational levels listed below shall receive the pay percentage <br />specified for that level. <br /> <br />Educational Level <br /> <br />Pay Percentage <br /> <br />BS or BA degree <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br />One Hundred Eighty (180) quarter hour units to include <br />a minimum of 90 upper division quarter hour units and <br />a minimum of 72 quarter units in an approved field of <br />study of which a minimum of 36 quarter hour units must <br />be upper division courses <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br />One Hundred Twenty (120) semester hour units to include <br />a minimum of 60 upper division semester hour units and <br />a minimum of 48 semester hour units in an approved field <br />of study of which a minimum of 24 semester hour units <br />must be upper division courses <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br /> <br />
