19.5 The written application submitted 'to the Educational Standards Committee must include the following: A description of the educational level to be pursued. 2. Employees pursuing a specific nmnber of college credits as set forth in this plan in lieu of a BS or a BA degree must indicate a major field of study and submit a list of courses to be taken in that major field. Prior'to'enrollment in a junior college, college, or university, the employee must have received written approval from the Educational Standards Committee as to his/her eligibility to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan. NOTE: No employee shall receive education=~l incentive pay for any educational level attained unless he/she has received advanced written approval from the Educational Standards Committee as set forth in this section. The junior college, college, or university f~om which an educational level is to be received must be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Educational Levels/Pay Educational levels attained under the Incentive Pay Plan must be completed with a total grade point average of "C" or better. The specific levels of educational achievement and their respective educational pay per- centages to which the educational incentive pay plan applies are as follows: Educational Eligible Pay Level PositiOns 'Percentage A.A. or A.S. in Fire Science Firefighter 2-1/2% Fire Lieutenant Sixty (60) accredited semester units of which 24 m]its must be in Fire Science Firefighter Fire Lieutenant 2-1/2% Ninety (90) accredited quarter units of which thirty-six (36) must be in the field of Fire Science Firefighter Fire Lieutenant 2-1/2% -18-
