19.6 <br /> <br />Educational <br />Level <br /> <br />Eligible <br />Positions. <br /> <br />Pay <br />Percentage <br /> <br />B.S. or B.A. Degree <br /> <br />Firefighter <br />Fire Lieutenant <br />Fire Captain <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br />One Hundred Eighty (180) <br />quarter hour units to include: - <br />a minimum of 90 upper division <br />quarter hour units~ and - a <br />minimum of 72 quarter hour units <br />in a major field of study of which <br />a minimum of 36 quarter hour units <br />must be upper division courses <br /> <br />Firefighter <br />Fire Lieutenant <br />Fire Captain <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br />One Hundred Twenty (120) semester <br />hour units to include: a minimum <br />of 60 upper division semester <br />hour units and - a minimum of <br />48 semester hour units in a <br />major field of study of which a <br />minimum of 24 semester hour units <br />must be upper division courses <br /> <br />Firefighter <br />Fire Lieutenant <br />Fire Captain <br /> <br />5% <br /> <br />NOTE: The above educational levels are not cumulative. <br /> The maximum educational incentive pay received by <br /> a single employee shall not exceed 5%; nor shall <br /> an employee receive incentive pay for more than. <br /> one educational level at the 2-1/2% rate nor more <br /> than one educational level at the 5% rate. <br /> <br />Documentation of Educational Achievement <br /> <br />Evidence of successful completion of a degree or <br />certificate shall consist of either of the following: <br /> <br />Diploma or certificate indicating the major <br />field of study. <br /> <br />Letter from the college registrar certifying <br />award of the degree or certificate and the <br />major field of study. <br /> <br />Evidence of completion of the required accredited <br />semester units or quarter hour equivalents may <br />consist of any of the following: <br /> <br />1. College transcript of grades. <br /> <br />2. Official grade slips from each of the courses. <br /> <br />Letter from the college registrar certifying <br />the completion of each course with a grade of <br />"C" or better. <br /> <br />-19- <br /> <br /> <br />
