19.3 19.4 Have met all requirements of their'position as set forth in the City's Classification Plan in effect at the time the employee was hired. Employees hired on or before June 30, 1982 and having passed their probationary period shall be eligible for educational incentive pay for eligible college degrees or college credits (as provided for in Section 19.5) earned prior to their employment with the City following approval by the Educational Standards Committee. All employees hired on or after July 1, 1982 shall only be eligible for educational incentive pay for eligible college degrees or college credits (as provided for in Section 19.5) upon completion of five (5) years of employment with the Pleasanton Fire Department and following approval of the Educational Standards Committee. Educational Standards Committee An Educational Standards Committee comprised of the President of I.A.F.F. Local 1974, and Assistant to the City Manager, shall be established for the purposes of: Determining the eligibility of each employee enroll in the Educational Incentive Program. Determining successful comple~ion of the educational level for which educational incentive pay is to be received. Enrollment Procedures Employees wishing to enroll in the Educational incentive Plan must do the following: Not later than forty-five (45) days prior to enrolling in a junior college, college or uni- versity, make written application to the Educational Standards Committee in order that the Committee may determine the employee's eligibility to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan. The Educational Standards Committee shall inform the employee in writing of their determination not later than thirty (30) days following their receipt of the employee's request to enroll in the Educational Incentive Pay Plan. -17-
