19.3 <br /> <br />19.4 <br /> <br />Have met all requirements of their'position as set <br />forth in the City's Classification Plan in effect <br />at the time the employee was hired. <br /> <br />Employees hired on or before June 30, 1982 and <br />having passed their probationary period shall be <br />eligible for educational incentive pay for eligible <br />college degrees or college credits (as provided for <br />in Section 19.5) earned prior to their employment <br />with the City following approval by the Educational <br />Standards Committee. All employees hired on or <br />after July 1, 1982 shall only be eligible for <br />educational incentive pay for eligible college degrees <br />or college credits (as provided for in Section 19.5) <br />upon completion of five (5) years of employment with <br />the Pleasanton Fire Department and following approval <br />of the Educational Standards Committee. <br /> <br />Educational Standards Committee <br /> <br />An Educational Standards Committee comprised of the <br />President of I.A.F.F. Local 1974, and Assistant to the <br />City Manager, shall be established for the purposes of: <br /> <br />Determining the eligibility of each employee <br />enroll in the Educational Incentive Program. <br /> <br />Determining successful comple~ion of the educational <br />level for which educational incentive pay is to be <br />received. <br /> <br />Enrollment Procedures <br /> <br />Employees wishing to enroll in the Educational incentive <br />Plan must do the following: <br /> <br />Not later than forty-five (45) days prior to <br />enrolling in a junior college, college or uni- <br />versity, make written application to the Educational <br />Standards Committee in order that the Committee may <br />determine the employee's eligibility to enroll in <br />the Educational Incentive Plan. The Educational <br />Standards Committee shall inform the employee in <br />writing of their determination not later than thirty <br />(30) days following their receipt of the employee's <br />request to enroll in the Educational Incentive Pay Plan. <br /> <br />-17- <br /> <br /> <br />
