Vacations <br /> <br />Vacation Eligibility <br /> <br />All employees shall be entitled to annual vacation leave <br />with pay except the following: <br /> <br />(1) Employees who have served less than six (6) months <br /> in the service of the City. <br /> <br />(2) Employees who work on a provisional basis. <br /> <br />Vacation Allowance <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Commencing with his/her next anniversary date <br />following April 1, 1981 each eligible employee <br />on a fifty-six (56) hour work week shall be <br />entitled to vacation with pay in accordance <br />with the following schedule: <br /> <br />Length of Service <br /> <br />Vacation Entitlement <br /> <br />1 through 5 years <br />6 through 12 years <br />13 through 15 years <br />16 through 17 years <br />18 years and over <br /> <br />6 shifts <br />8 shifts <br />10 shifts <br />11 shifts <br />12 shifts <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Accrued vacation shall be credited to the employee's <br />account upon his/her anniversary date each year. <br /> <br />(3) Any employee except a probationary employee may be <br /> allowed to incur a fifty-six (56) hour deficit <br /> beyond the vacation leave credited to his/her account <br /> on his/her anniversary date. A probationary employee <br /> may incur a five (5) day deficit in vacation leave <br /> after six (6) months full-time satisfactory service.. <br /> <br />(4) Vacation must be used in increments to the nearest <br /> twenty-four (24) hour division. <br /> <br />Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br />Any eligible employee may defer up to a maximum of one <br />and one-half (1-1/2) times his/her annual vacation <br />entitlement to the year succeeding his/her anniversary <br />date. <br /> <br />-10- <br /> <br /> <br />
