12.4 <br /> <br />Vacation Schedule <br /> <br />Vacation time requests shall be made on Pleasanton Fire <br />Department vacation request forms. Vacation time shall <br />be granted by seniority and shall be approved by the <br />Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Vacation time requested may be split more than once <br />annually provided, however, that vacation time is <br />taken in a minimum of one (1) full shift. Seniority, <br />shall be honored on each succeeding selection after <br />all members of the shift have made a vacation selection. <br /> <br />Effective April 1, 1981, two (2) employees on the same <br />shift but of differing ranks may be off on vacation at <br />the same time, or two employees of the firefighter rank <br />may be off provided in the latter instance, no overtime <br />is required when the two firefighters' vacations are <br />scheduled. <br /> <br />If, for example in emergencies, the requirements of the <br />service are such that an employee cannot take part or <br />all of his/her annual vacation in a particular calendar <br />year, such vacation shall be taken during the folloQing <br />calendar year. <br /> <br />12.5 <br /> <br />Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> <br />Any employee with one (1) or more years service with <br />the City shall be paid for all accrued vacation leave <br />earned prior to the ~ffective date of termination. Such <br />compensation for earned vacation shall be paid to the <br />employee in one lump sum in a final check. <br /> <br />Section 1'3. Sick Leave <br /> <br />13.1 Sick Leave' Accrual <br /> <br />During hAs/h~r one year probationary period each new <br />full-time employee shall earn sick leave at the rate <br />of eleven and two-tenths (11.2) hours for each month <br />of service. Upon successfully completing his/her one <br />year probationary period each new employee shall receive <br />five hundred thirty-seven and six-tenths (537.6) hours' <br />sick leave credit in addition to that earned during <br />probation. Upon completion of five (5) years service <br />every employee shall thereafter accumulate sick leave <br />at a rate of eleven and two-tenths'(ll.2) hours per <br />month. No employee shall accumulate more than two <br />thousand sixteen hours' (2016) sick leave. An employee <br /> <br />-11- <br /> <br /> <br />
