Section 9. Holidays <br /> <br />9.1 Holiday Pay <br /> <br />Fifty-six (56) hour work week employees shall be com- <br />pensated for working holidays each year through receipt <br />of holiday in lieu pay. This compensation shall be <br />seven and one-half percent (7-1/2%) of the employee's <br />annual salary, exclusive of any overtime. Such com- <br />pensation shall be paid in two equal installments. <br />Such payments are to be made on the first pay day after <br />December 1 and the first pay day after June 1. , <br /> <br />Employees shall receive prorated holiday pay upon <br />termination. <br /> <br />Section 10. Acting Officer Pay <br /> <br />In the absence of the assigned officer, a Firefighter <br />will act as a Lieutenant only on Squad #61. A Lieutenant <br />will act as a Captain in the latter's absence only if no <br />other Captain is ava'i.able for work. <br /> <br />Employees serving as acting officers for two (2) hours <br />or more shall receive the minimum rate of pay for the <br />classification in which they are serving for all hours <br />so worked provided, however, that said rate 6f pay is <br />at least five percent (5%) above their regular rate of <br />pay. <br /> <br />Use of acting officers will not be employed as a per- <br />manent method of filling vacant officer positions. <br /> <br />Section 11. Aerial ~pparatus' Operator's Pay <br /> <br />At such time as the fire department's aerial apparatus <br />is placed into seXvice, the employee on each shift <br />assigned to operatesaid apparatus shall receive in <br />addition to his/her regular rate of pay, an amount <br />equal to. five percent (5%) of his/her regular hourly <br />rate for'each hour served on duty in said assignment. <br />Upon the approval of the Fire Chief the person assigned <br />to operate the aerial apparatus shall be the most senior <br />firefighter in the fire station to which the apparatus <br />i~ assigned. <br /> <br /> <br />
