Section 9. Holidays 9.1 Holiday Pay Fifty-six (56) hour work week employees shall be com- pensated for working holidays each year through receipt of holiday in lieu pay. This compensation shall be seven and one-half percent (7-1/2%) of the employee's annual salary, exclusive of any overtime. Such com- pensation shall be paid in two equal installments. Such payments are to be made on the first pay day after December 1 and the first pay day after June 1. , Employees shall receive prorated holiday pay upon termination. Section 10. Acting Officer Pay In the absence of the assigned officer, a Firefighter will act as a Lieutenant only on Squad #61. A Lieutenant will act as a Captain in the latter's absence only if no other Captain is ava'i.able for work. Employees serving as acting officers for two (2) hours or more shall receive the minimum rate of pay for the classification in which they are serving for all hours so worked provided, however, that said rate 6f pay is at least five percent (5%) above their regular rate of pay. Use of acting officers will not be employed as a per- manent method of filling vacant officer positions. Section 11. Aerial ~pparatus' Operator's Pay At such time as the fire department's aerial apparatus is placed into seXvice, the employee on each shift assigned to operatesaid apparatus shall receive in addition to his/her regular rate of pay, an amount equal to. five percent (5%) of his/her regular hourly rate for'each hour served on duty in said assignment. Upon the approval of the Fire Chief the person assigned to operate the aerial apparatus shall be the most senior firefighter in the fire station to which the apparatus i~ assigned.
