Pacific Telephone is both vendor <br />and contractor and, as such, requires no payments for goods and <br />services already received and accepted by the City. No payments will <br />be due until the system is completed by Pacific Telephone and accepted <br />by the City. <br /> <br />INS~CE <br /> <br />GENERAL INSURANCE STATEMENT <br /> <br />This is to advise you that the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company <br />has qualified under the laws of the State of California as a <br />self-insurer for amounts up to $2,500,000 with respect to public <br />liability, bodily injury and property damage liability. <br /> <br />This is to advise you that Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company has <br />qualified under the laws of the State of California as a self-insurer <br />with respect to Workers' Compensation. Our identification number fo~ <br />this purpose is 2-0054-03. <br /> <br />Please see letter. <br /> <br />INDE~EqITY <br />Pacific Telephone shall indemnify, save and hold harmless from and <br />defend the City, members of the City Council and their agents, servants <br />and employees, against any and all claims; costs, demands, causes of <br />action, suits, losses, expense or other detriment or liability arising <br />from or out of acts or omission of vendors, its agents, subcontractors, <br />officials or employees, in connection with the execution of the work <br />covered by this request for proposal. <br /> <br />VENDOR QUALIFICATIONS <br />Performance under the contract awarded as a result of this proposal <br />will be administered by The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company <br />(Pacific Telephone), whose many years of experience in providing <br />reliable communications for the City of Pleasanton ("Pleasanton"), <br />places Pacific Telephone in an excellent position to supply the <br />complete telephone system along with necessary back-up for Pleasanton <br />as described in this solicitation. Pacific Telephone's maintenance and <br />engineering forces have extensive staff back-up and the ability to <br />obtain parts and equipment whenever needed. This staff will serve <br />Pleasanton and will be available to accommodate any future expansion of <br />the proposed services desired by Pleasanton. Pacific Telephone excels <br />in response time, supply lines, coordinated testing of facilities, <br />transmission capabilities and equipment, and overall telephone system <br />management. Pacific Telephone will perform its designated duties and <br />responsibilities with the assistance of the Western Electric Company <br />(WECO) and the Bell Telephone Laboratories (Bell Labs). Working as a <br />team, this cooperative and coordinated Bell System organization has a <br />long history of contributions to the betterment of communications. <br /> <br /> <br />
