CAMP DRESSER & McKEE INC. Mr. Robert L. Warnick October 29, 1984 Page 3 Task 6 - Prepare a Brief Report A brief report will be prepared describing the preliminary design. The report will include recommendations for additional geotechnical and soils investigations and supplemental topographic and site surveys. Task 7 - Prepare Final Design The final design to determine the structural requirements of the reservoir walls, roof, roof support system, floor slab, and piping connections will be completed under this task, with due consideration being given to the results of the soils survey and foundation and backfilling requirements. The final design will include the pipeline, site grading, and access road. Task 8 - Prepare Construction Plans, Specifications, and Bid Documents Construction plans will be prepared showing all structural, mechani- cal, and civil work in detail and in a manner to insure competitive bidding among contractors. These products will be prepared so that there will be a minimum of misunderstandings and/or potential claims for extra work during construction. Detailed specifications will be prepared covering all items of work and materials involved in the con- struction program, including hydrostatic testing of the completed reservoir and including the work involved in furnishing, laying, and testing of pipeline, the inlet/outlet valving, and overflow piping. Task 9 - Bid Inquiries and Preparation of Addendums During the bidding period, replies will be prepared to all contractors' inquiries regarding the plans and specifications. Addendums will be prepared where deemed necessary to correct or clarify plans or specifications, all in a manner set forth for such procedures in the specifications. Task 10 - Assistance in the Evaluations of Contractors' Formal Bids CDM will assist the City in the evaluation of all bonafide bids received and, if requested, will make recommendations regarding the award of the construction contract.
