v 1' 71 �,f0 <br /> City Council Work Plan for 2009 -2010 <br /> As of April 22, 2009 <br /> Goals Project Description <br /> TRAFFIC <br /> Implement Improved Traffic Circulation Measures <br /> BART to Livermore The City of Pleasanton currently supports the 1 -580 alignment to <br /> Greenville Road. <br /> Development of principles and guidelines for improved traffic Develop principles and guidelines to allow for the implementation of <br /> circulation improved circulation throughout the City. The Traffic Circulation Element <br /> will be used as a framework for implementation, including but not limited <br /> to, local and regional infrastructure improvements, signal timing, best <br /> practices, the bike and pedestrian master plan and other related initiatives. <br /> In addition: <br /> Initiate bi- annual reports to the City Council regarding intersections that <br /> have the potential to exceed level of service D. <br /> Continually update computer control technology for traffic lights. <br /> Continue to coordinate and synchronize computer controlled traffic signals <br /> on major city streets. <br /> Annually implement the City's Traffic Calming Program and conduct <br /> appropriate outreach with neighborhoods. <br /> Work with Pleasanton Unified School District to strengthen the school's <br /> traffic calming and shared parking solutions in the Rides -to- School <br /> Program. <br /> Address pedestrian and bicycle safety issues as needed <br /> Happy Valley Bypass Road Financing Plan This project would involve the development of various funding options for <br /> the recommended road alignment, including use of debt, cash or <br /> public /private financing. The City currently has $1 million in reserve for <br /> design and construction costs; overall project costs will likely exceed this <br /> amount. <br /> State Route 84 Support State and regional efforts to improve State Route 84 including the <br /> widening to four lanes between Pigeon Pass and 1 -680. <br /> High Speed Rail Continue to monitor regional rail and high -speed rail plans and consider <br /> impacts on and benefits for Pleasanton. <br /> Pedestrian /Bike Master Plan Prepare and adopt a citywide pedestrian and bicycle master plan. Identify <br /> areas where additional bicycle parking facilities are needed. <br /> El Charro Road /I -580 Interchange Coordinate the design and construction of El Charro Road 1 -580 <br /> interchange improvements with Livermore, Dublin, and Alameda County. <br /> Regional Transportation Actively participate with the Alameda County Congestion Management <br /> Agency, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and the Tri- Valley <br /> Transportation Council to develop and implement regional transportation <br /> plans and systems which benefit the Tri Valley. <br /> A -3 <br />
