RRM's Project Manager will be onsite for a majority of the data collection effort to review data
collection procedures, answer ADA questions, and solve problems that may be encountered to
ensure the project runs smoothly and any issues are resolved quickly and don't affect the project
schedule.
Deliverables: Project Management
Subtask 8.5: Progress Meetings
RRM's Project Manager will meet with the City's Project Manager on a weekly basis during data
collection to review progress. Portions of the City that will not be included because of private roads,
Caltrans Rights of Way and other barriers, will be reviewed. Meeting minutes will be prepared to
memorialize decisions made.
Deliverables: Three (3) Weekly Progress Meetings
Meeting Minutes
Task C: GIS Database
RRM will create a GIS database ("geodatabase")for the management and update of ramp and
sidewalk data collected in the field. The geodatabase will be created using ESRI's ArcGIS software.
The geodatabas's feature classes (e.g., ramps, sidewalks, etc.) will be projected to the coordinate
system North American Datum (NAD) 1983 State Plane California Zone III. RRM's GIS analyst will
coordinate with the City's GIS personnel to ensure that the geodatabase is compatible with that
currently used by the City.
Subtask C.1: Data Download
The geographic data collected in the field, including point and image data, will be downloaded daily
from the GeoXH Handheld receivers. On a weekly basis, the data will be imported into Trimble's
Pathfinder Office software where it will be differentially corrected to increase the data's horizontal
precision. Additional attribute fields not included in the Flow Chart (e.g., image links, horizontal
precision and geographic coordinates) will then be added to the data's attribute tables. Once
corrected and amended, the data will be exported to shapefile format with the projection NAD 83
State Plane California Zone III.
Deliverables: GIS Data Set
Subtask C.2: Database Management
ESRI's ArcGIS software will be used to manage and update the revised GIS and image data. The
shapefiles created in Subtask C.1 will be reviewed for accuracy and completeness. With accuracy
and completeness verified, the shapefiles will be merged with those from previous weeks' field
collection.. Once field work is complete, merged shapefiles will be imported into the geodatabase
as separate feature classes, based upon feature type (e.g., ramp, ramp missing, sidewalk deflection,
