• I liked job shadowing a city employee because I gained more appreciation for
what goes on during aday-to day basis. The interaction allowed me to consider
job opportunities
. Village makes the best food -thank you! Having two people shadowing made it
more comfortable. More would have made it less personal. The increased
participation from Village and Horizon helped provide an additional perspective
. I liked seeing lots of new places and where the decisions of city/schools take
place and how they're made. I also like learning more about the opportunities
and awareness our city gives us.
• I enjoyed seeing how our school system was run. It opened me up to a variety of
career choices and although what is shadowed wasn't completely what I want to
do - it gave me an opportunity to see what is out there.
. I liked how I actually got to see what a police officer does. I was interested in
being an officer but today made it for sure
. It was a great experience
. Everything Village - YEEEEEEEEEE
. The food
. I liked seeing the different fire activities. Also going to see them in action. I also
liked how we got to give input for the youth master plan
• I really think spending time with your shadow and really understanding theirjobs
. I loved the discussion after the job shadowing to talk about what we'd like to see
the city/school district do for youth. I also enjoyed getting the message that it's
more important to follow your passion and that success will follow you.
• I like the various types of information about school and government participation
• I liked how the job shadows were very engaging and passionate about their jobs
and shared their enthusiasm with the kids
. The police K-9 unit
• I loved to see all the different type kids and classes that Robin brought us
through
. What I liked about YIG was the chances we've got to ask questions and get the
chance to experience
• I liked that I could shadow a principal for a little while so I could understand what
they did.
• I liked how I met a lot of people that all play a role in a certain part of a job
. I liked how I participated in actual conferences and got a taste of daily work for
the city management
. I enjoyed talking personally with a firefighter about preparing for my career
. It was fun and allowed me to see the bigger picture
• Spending time with my shadow was my favorite part
. How you get to actually see all the routine and everything they do at the
firefighters
• Expanding my knowledge about our city and the way our police department
operates
