<br />bottle caps, etc. The items will be sorted into color and subject matter. S.C.R.A.P.-a materials salvage center for
<br />teachers, could serve as a model for an on-site are recycling center. With this funding, shelving, bins and containers will
<br />also be purchased.

<br />$3000.00 develop (10) storyboards, approx. I I X 17 inches, to tell a story in words, pictures and examples, about some
<br />non-recyclable materials, including mylar, foil-and-paper combinations, Christmas trees with tlocking and tinsel, non-
<br />recyclable Styrofoam/EPS, upholstered furniture, foil based juice pouches, ect. Accompanying each set of storyboards
<br />will be a take away print piece with addresses of businesses using large quantities of the offending materials that the
<br />reader can observe and contact if he/she wants to record an impression. storyboards will be on display at venues in
<br />Alameda County. Information will also be available on line.
<br />Arroyo Seco H:Iementary School, OR-d5, Garden Shed and Tolls, Composter and Recycling Receptacles, Livermore,
<br />H:ast County - $2660.00 purchase locked recyclable containers to place around school to reduce the amount of trash,
<br />clean up the school site, and generate much needed revenue for school programs. Purchase of a garden shed, tools, and
<br />composter with a goal of recycling most ofthe school's green waste through the composting process, which will then be
<br />used to feed the garden.
<br />Albany Middle School, 08-46, AMS Waste Reduction and Prevention Program, Albany, West County - $3000.00
<br />this grant will allow the garden committee to create a comprehensive waste reduction program by institutionalizing their
<br />current recycling program and developing amarketing/education program for students, staff, and community. In turn this
<br />will help fund future garden improvements as the school would be able to "sell" many of the recyclables.
<br />Glenview F,Iementary School, 08-47, Go Green!, Oakland, West County - $1500.00 Go Green! A project to ina~ease
<br />library resources for "green" projects in our school, a recycling programs for cafeteria and classrooms, a working garden
<br />with composting, "Green" day to explore and research eco-Iriendly options, Barth Day activities and green science fair
<br />projects.

<br />farmers market, that educates and promotes nutritional eating. The funds we arc seeking will be used in our "kick ofP'
<br />program to buy ecology totes with our "Logo", a reusable sign, and with time and date of market.
<br />Altamont Creek Elementary School, 08-49, Waste Reduction and Prevention through Technology, Livermore,
<br />East County - $2360.00 purchase two duplex (double-sided printing capability) network printers to replace the outdated,
<br />inefficient printers. School will also train staff and student son waste reduction and prevention strategics in the office, the
<br />classrooms, the library and computer lab with an emphasis on reducing the use of paper.
<br />Altamont Creek Elementary School, 08-SQ Waste Reduction anti Prevention in Science Lab, Livermore, East
<br />County - $2549.00 [his project will focus on Greening the Green Waste. "fhe school plans a kick off program during
<br />Earth Week of 2009. 'fhe "Green'feam" for cafeteria recycling successfully became an "independent program" diverting
<br />and preventing much cafeteria waste. "I'he Green Team isn't needed to run the program this year, just adult supervision
<br />throughout the cafeteria. In order to improve the Green Waste recycling and prevention, the school will organize
<br />something similar. The program will revitalize, educating students, teachers and families during Earth Week. 'fhe green
<br />team will also be trained to address challenges of composting of collected food scraps.
