1.4 Focus Group Guide and Reporting Template <br />MIG will work with the City to create a guide that prepares Staff and Committee <br />members to conduct focus groups or small group discussions of 8-15 people. The <br />tool kit will be scalable, meaning that the City can prepare as many kits as it needs, <br />and the sessions can be conducted as many tunes as the City wants to. <br />Participants will include both adults and youth. Focus groups may be conducted <br />with: <br />• Middle School students <br />• High School students <br />• Teachers <br />• Parents (all ages of kids) <br />• Young Adults (Youth Church leaders) <br />• Chamber of Commerce <br />• Leadership Pleasanton <br />• Service Clubs <br />• Spanish speaking community members <br />• Seniors <br />Veterans <br />• Faith groups <br />• Service providers for at-risk youth <br />• PTA members <br />• School site councils <br />• Leadership classes (5~'' grade and above) <br />• Local YMCA <br />• Childcare links (In home facilities network) <br />• Childcare facilities <br />• Access to Axis <br />• Strategic Planning Committees <br />• Community of Character Committee <br />• Childcare links (Access) <br />• Young Adults (18 - 20) <br />• Sports Associations <br />• Other service agencies <br />MIG will prepare a focus group guide and reporting template for the City to use. <br />MIG will advise City staff on how to train others in use of the kit. City staff will train <br />members of the Ad Hoc Committee in the use of the kit. The City will be <br />responsible for scheduling, recruiting, and conducting discussions using the outreach <br />kit. The City will provide the completed templates, returned in one packet, for <br />review and analysis by MIG. MIG will prepare an internal working document that <br />presents a compilation of the results.
