Task 5: <br /> <br />(1) Recommend circulation Drooosals for unresolved <br /> areas of the Planning Area, including, but not <br /> limited to, the future status of Foothill Road, <br /> access to the hill area on the western and <br /> southern edges of the City, disposition of E1 <br /> Charro Boulevard and its extension to .Stanley <br /> Boulevard, development of a more detailed cir- <br /> culation system in the eastern portion of the <br /> City, issues related to freeway interchanges <br /> throughout the community, and formulation of a <br /> downtown circulation plan. <br /> <br />(2) Provide plans and programs to meet existing and <br /> future downtown traffic and parking problems. <br /> <br />(3) Provide information with regard to bus and fixed <br /> rail transit facilities in and near the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br />(4) Address transportation systems management issues <br /> throughout the community. <br /> <br />(5) Assess special transportation requirements for <br /> elderly, handicapped, youth and others. <br /> <br />(6) Develop an updated master traffic signal plan for <br /> the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Specify methods by which the Circulation Element would <br />be used to assist City officials and staff in the <br />local decision-making process includin~ the use of <br />the Circulation Element: as a data base for the environ- <br />mental review process; to evaluate proposed land uses <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br /> <br />
