for industrial use while indirect emissions will be
related to local and regional trip generation and
vehicle miles travelled.

Task 6:

Task 7:

The consistency of the preferred Land Use and Policy
Alternative with the 1982 Bay Area Air Quality Plan
will be evaluated. This will involve comparing pooulation
growth provided for in the preferred alternative with
the growth assumed when the 1982 Bay Area Air Quality
Plan was developed. The transportation control measures
and improvements included in the Land Use and Circulation
Elements will be reviewed to determine any interference
with the implementation of the 1982 Air Quality Plan.
Develop air quality policies and mitigation measures
for the preferred alternative sufficient to meet state
and federal air quality standards. Based on the evalua-
tion of the preferred alternative, General Plan policies
and mitigation measures will be analyzed for their
feasibility, cost and ability to meet state and federal
air quality standards. These policies and mitigations
will become part of the Air Quality Element.

Specify methods by which the Air Quality Element would
be used to assist City officials and staff in the local
decision-making process including use of the Element:
e.g. as a data base for the environmental review orocess;
to evaluate proposed land uses in terms of air quality
emissions; and to determine the appropriateness of the
location of specific land uses as determined by the
City's Land Use Element.

-4-
