for industrial use while indirect emissions will be <br />related to local and regional trip generation and <br />vehicle miles travelled. <br /> <br />Task 6: <br /> <br />Task 7: <br /> <br />The consistency of the preferred Land Use and Policy <br />Alternative with the 1982 Bay Area Air Quality Plan <br />will be evaluated. This will involve comparing pooulation <br />growth provided for in the preferred alternative with <br />the growth assumed when the 1982 Bay Area Air Quality <br />Plan was developed. The transportation control measures <br />and improvements included in the Land Use and Circulation <br />Elements will be reviewed to determine any interference <br />with the implementation of the 1982 Air Quality Plan. <br />Develop air quality policies and mitigation measures <br />for the preferred alternative sufficient to meet state <br />and federal air quality standards. Based on the evalua- <br />tion of the preferred alternative, General Plan policies <br />and mitigation measures will be analyzed for their <br />feasibility, cost and ability to meet state and federal <br />air quality standards. These policies and mitigations <br />will become part of the Air Quality Element. <br /> <br />Specify methods by which the Air Quality Element would <br />be used to assist City officials and staff in the local <br />decision-making process including use of the Element: <br />e.g. as a data base for the environmental review orocess; <br />to evaluate proposed land uses in terms of air quality <br />emissions; and to determine the appropriateness of the <br />location of specific land uses as determined by the <br />City's Land Use Element. <br /> <br /> -4- <br /> <br /> <br />
