Professional air quality planning assistance <br />shall include, but not be limited to the following: <br /> <br /> (a) Act as professional staff, under the General Plan <br />Coordinator, in undertaking the work program required to produce <br />an Air Quality Element which meets all the ~rovisions outlined <br />in the California General Plan Guidelines. Tasks to be performed <br />by the Consultant include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Task 1: Review existing literature and data including Air <br /> <br /> Quality Elements developed for other cities. Conduct <br /> meetings with local and regional air quality agencies <br /> to determine the best methods of both analysis and tech- <br /> niques involved in developing an Air Quality Element <br /> and implementation program for Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Task 2: Using methodology determined in Task 1, summarize existing <br /> air quality conditions using historical air quality <br /> data and trend analysis for Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley <br /> Area. This information will be summarized and displayed <br /> graphically to provide an understandable description of <br /> air quality trends, the status of regional air quality <br /> planning and a history of air quality policies in <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, the Tri-Valley Area and the Bay Region. The <br /> <br /> effects of land use development and transportation <br /> <br /> systems on air quality will be explained, focussing on <br /> the issue of commuting patterns and their effects on <br /> local and regional air quality. <br /> <br /> Project the future local scale air quality impacts along <br /> freeways, local arterials and local intersections using <br /> <br />Task 3: <br /> <br /> <br />
