Task 6: <br /> <br />Task 7: <br /> <br />in selecting a preferred Land Use and Policy Alternative, <br />and consistent with unit(s) of measure used in Task 1. <br />Recommend mitigating measures and possible solutions <br />to noise problems resulting from the adoption of the <br />Preferred Land Use and Policy Alternative. Consultant <br />may utilize information from the NPID EIR and other <br />noise studies, provided they will adequately mitigate <br />the impacts of the Preferred Land Use and Poli.cy <br />Alternative, as defined by state laws. To the extent <br />that impacts will occur in areas not identified in <br />existing studies, Consultant will evaluate the <br />feasibility and necessity of noise mitigation and <br />include suggestions in the Noise Element. The necessity <br />for mitigation measures will be based on a comprehensive <br />set of noise and land use compatibility guidelines as <br />well as goals and policies developed as part of Task 3. <br />Based on implementation of these mitigations and <br />activity information supplied by agencies responsible <br />for the various noise sources, Consultant will produce <br />pencil line noise exposure contours, after mitigation, <br />drawn on base maps furnished by the City for the years <br />2010 and General Plan Buildout. <br /> <br />Specify methods by which the Noise Element would be <br />used to assist City officials and staff in the local <br />decision-making Process including use of the Noise <br />Element: as a data base for the environmental review <br />process; to evaluate proposed land uses in terms of <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br /> <br />
