Retirement System (PERS). The amount of said city <br />payment shall equal, but not exceed seven percent <br />(7%) of the employee's compensation subject to <br />retirement contributions. <br /> <br />For the two police clerks, and one supervising police <br />clerk currently enrolled in the Public Employees' <br />Retirement System's "public safety retirement pro- <br />gram," the city shall pay their contribution to PERS. <br />The amount of saia city payment shall equal but not <br />exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's compen- <br />sation subject to retirement contribution. In <br />recognition of this higher contribution by the city, <br />the base monthly salaries paid these three employees, <br />effective March 1,198~ shall be adjusted to provide <br /> <br /> the following: <br /> <br /> Police Clerks (2) <br /> Supv. Police Clerk <br /> <br />Section-~5., Uniforms <br /> <br />16.1 <br /> <br />$1806 <br />$2080 <br /> <br />The City shall provide all necessary safety and <br />protective clothing, as defined by the City Manager. <br />The city shall provide fifty-percent (50%) of the <br />initial purchase price of uniforms for those Police <br />Department employees required to wear a prescribed <br />uniform. <br /> <br />Uniform Allowance <br /> <br />Effective March 1, 1984, the annual uniform allowance <br />paid to employees in the classification of police <br />assistant, police clerk, PBX Operator/Receptionist, <br />supervising police clerk, senior animal control officer, <br />and fire inspector shall be two hundred dollars ($200) <br />per year, such allowance to be paid in one payment in <br />April. <br /> <br />Effective June 1, 1984, the annual uniform allowance <br />paid to the employees in the classifications of <br />f_ Ri~r animal control officer and fire inspector shall <br />be increased to two hundred fifty dollars ($250) per year, <br />such allowance to be paid in one payment in April. <br /> <br />Reimbursement for Damaged or Destroyed Personal Clothing <br /> <br />Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the city will reimburse <br />employees for the reasonable repair or replacement of their <br />personal clothing seriously damaged or destroyed in the <br />performance of assigned duties; provided, however, <br />no such reimbursement shall be made if the article(s) <br />of clothing damaged or destroyed is inappropriate <br />for the workplace; damaged or destroyed as a result of <br />the improper performance of the assigned work; damaged <br />or destroyed as a result of an industrial injury the <br />latter reimbursable under the city worker's compensation <br />insurance program. <br /> <br />-22- <br /> <br /> <br />
