of staff to student will be very low. Only 1 teacher to 6.5 students <br />which is considered very good. Our staff members meet or exceed <br />the education and experience requirements set forth in the <br />Health and Safety Code. We must also comply with the other <br />hiring requirements of the Community Care Licensing <br />Department. Namely: <br />a. All our staff, including the director must have a "live scan" <br />fingerprint criminal background check completed by either <br />Trustline or the Care Giver Background Check Bureau prior <br />to employment. <br />b. They must also be cleared through the company above <br />using the Child Abuse Index. <br />c. They must be medically healthy and have a current TB test <br />prior to employment. <br />d. They must pass a 15 hour child care center cpr, first aid <br />and health and safety course. <br />5. In addition to the hiring process the State inspects our facility to <br />make sure it is safe and in compliance with state standards. <br />a. We must maintain proper first aid supplies. <br />b. We must have a fire clearance prior to opening our facility. <br />c. We must have enough space indoors for our children to <br />enjoy their stay safely. <br />d. We must have a place to play where children receive fresh <br />air and sunlight. <br />i. In our case since we do not have an outside play <br />yard fenced off by a Oft fence, the state has <br />concluded that because our Academy is so large <br />and has a roll up door allowing plenty of fresh air <br />and sunshine into the academy and we have ample <br />outside play equipment within our academy that <br />our academy meets the requirement for the <br />outside play area. <br />e. We have also taken the following actions that are not <br />required by state law to further ensure the safety of both <br />our children and staff. <br />i. We have a 3 million dollar specialized martial arts <br />liability insurance policy. <br />ii. We will install and maintain recorded video <br />surveillance of the interior areas of our site with <br />the exception of the rooms used for changing and <br />the bathrooms. <br />iii. We will install a "screamer" alarm on our back door <br />to ensure no student leaves the premises without <br />cause. <br />
