b. State Licensed School Age Child Care Facility: We are well into the process of obtaining our school age child care center license for our Quarry Lane Site. We anticipate receiving our license in the month of July or August. When we are licensed it is our intention to conduct our After School Martial Arts Program at our site. As per the suggestion of the Planning Commission we would like you to approve our conditional use permit with the condition that in order to operate the Childcare Center/youth program, we must first obtain and demonstrate to the City of Pleasanton Planning Department that we have obtained our Childcare Center License. i. The After School Martial Arts Program: During days when school is in session we will be picking up a maximum of 20 children kindergarten through 6`" grade from various local schools in the Pleasanton and Dublin school districts upon their release from school. The release time is typically 11:40am and 2:50pm. 1. We will be picking them up in our 14 passenger dodge ram van and our 8 passenger dodge Durango. Although no special license or certificate is needed to do this we do conform to the Department of Motor Vehicles requirement to have a medical clearance card in the name of the driver in the driver's possession. We also maintain commercial automobile insurance in the same amount as required by drivers of children in the Pleasanton School District. When picking up the children it is our policy to park our vehicles off site and walk up and pick up the children. 2. They will be brought to our academy and signed in as per the health and safety code and as required by the city of Pleasanton's planning staff. 3. They will then dress out in their martial arts uniforms and participate in a variety of activities throughout the day on site. This includes physical games, quiet activities (such as arts and crafts) and they will also have time to work on their homework. They will then participate in 1 to 2 martial arts classes per day depending on if they are picked up at the 11:40am time or the 2:SOpm time. See Appendix A for the daily schedule. 4. They will be directly visually supervised by our staff at all times while participating in our program. We must maintain a ratio according to state law. A school age childcare center may have 1 site director monitor 14 children and 1 teacher monitor 14 children. An aide may also monitor 14 children but must be under the direct visual supervision of either the director or teacher. Our staff will consist of 1 site director (the applicant John Pfund), 1 Fully qualified teacher and 1 teacher's aide. That means our ratio
