SECTION 5 <br /> <br />EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL <br /> <br />5-01 General <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />These erosion and sediment control guidelines establish <br />requirements which supplement the excavation and qrading <br />requirements contained in Chapter 70 of the Uniform <br />Building Code, 1979 edition, or the latest edition as <br />adopted by the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />These guidelines will be administered and enforced under <br />the provisions of Chapters 2 and 3 of the Uniform <br />Building Code, latest edition adopted by the City of <br />Pleasanton, and the City of Pleasanton Ordinance Code, <br />Chapter 1, Title II and Chapter 4, Title IV. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />All erosion and sediment control plans and specifications <br />are to be prepared in accordance with the latest edition <br />of the "Manual of Standards for Erosion and Sediment <br />Control Measures" by the Association of Bay Area <br />Governments. <br /> <br />5-02 Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of these quidelines is to protect property, water <br />quality, and public welfare within the City of Pleasanton by <br />regulating land development activities to minimize erosion <br />and sedimentation Caused by surface runoff. <br /> <br />5-03 Criteria <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />An Erosion Control and Sedimentation Plan with Specifications <br />is required to be approved by the City prior to commencing <br />work under any of the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. The area of land disturbed is one acre or greater; <br /> <br />Excavation and embankment exceed one foot in <br />elevation or 50 cubic yards in volume; <br /> <br />Natural and finished slomes exceed ten percent (10%); <br /> <br />Volume of soil stored or stockpiled exceeds 150 <br />cubic yards; <br /> <br />5. Work that continues into the Erosion Control Period <br /> beginning October 15 and ending April 15 (rainy <br /> ,. season); <br /> <br />Land disturbance activity within 100 feet of a <br />watercourse (ephemeral or perennial, from top of <br />bank) or other water body. <br /> <br />5.1 <br /> <br /> <br />
