e) The City Engineer shall have specific authority to modify <br /> any of the above criteria. <br /> <br />3-03 Pipe Size: <br /> <br /> a) Pipe sizes will normally be determined in accordance with <br /> Manning's Formula. The value of "n" shall be 0.013. <br /> <br /> b) The minimum size service lateral. shall be 4" and the <br /> minimum size main shall be 8", except that 6" may be used <br /> on short dead end lines with steep slope, if approved by <br /> the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> c) All lines shall be designed to flow 3/4 full, without head. <br />3-04 Slope: <br /> <br /> Sewers shall be laid to the maximum slope possible consistent <br /> with good design practices but in no case less than the minimums <br /> listed below, measured in feet per foot unless authorized by <br /> <br />the City Engineer. <br /> <br />4" 0.02 <br />6" 0.005 <br />8" 0.003 <br />10" 0.0025 <br />12" 0.0020 <br />15" 0.0015 <br /> <br />3-05 Velocity: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The minimum velocity with pipe flowing full shall, in <br />general, be 2 feet per second consistent with section <br />3.04. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />The maximum velocity shall be 10 feet per second unless <br />special pipe or controls are approved. <br /> <br />3-06 Location: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Sewer lines shall normally be located on the south and <br />west sides of streets with the centerline of pipe five <br />feet (5') from the centerline of street. Other locations <br />may be allowed where an economical advantage can be <br />shown, to avoid conflicts or for other sound reasons. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />On direct access divided roads or frontage roads parallel <br />mains may be required on both sides of the street. <br /> <br />3-07 Depth: <br /> <br /> All new sewer lines shall have a minimum cover of five feet (5'). <br /> <br />3.2 <br /> <br /> <br />
