LIONS WAYSIDE & DELUCGHI PARKS MASTER PLAN
PROPOSAL FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES
THE PROJECT TEAM
For the final Master Plan for Lions Wayside and DeLucchi Parks, we have assembled
a multi-disciplinary team of consultants with special expertise that will address the
many aspects of the project.
^ RICHARD CARSON & ASSOCIATES
Planning and design, based on DPTS and input from Staff and public.
Coordination of the consultant team.
^ ELS
Preliminary conceptual design of the Chan Henderson Bandstand.
^ SYCAMORE ASSOCIATES LLC, IF REQUIRED
An outline description of the process of biological assessments, CEQA
compliance, wetlands assessment and mitigation, etc. (if required).
^ ADDITIONAL CONSULTANTS, AS REQUIRED
"'.' The following consultants can be included on a minimal, as-needed basis.
(This reflects the assumption that the involvement of some consultants may be
quite minimal during this phase, and more comprehensive during later phases,
such as the preparation of construction documents.)
Irrigation Consulting (irrigation systems design, water use analysis, etc.)
Various Engineering disciplines (structural, electrical, acoustical, etc.)
PROJECT APPROACH
The consultant team will begin by reviewing and building upon our knowledge
and understanding of the site, its history, and its current uses. We will review the
goals and uses and the conclusions of the DPTS (Master Plan for the Downtown
Parks & Trails System), and talk with City staff about the City's goals, new
information, and the park's possibilities.
The park design program will be consolidated and supplemented with new
information and conditions, including the DeLucchi Park Restroom Building,
and the final design of the Firehouse Arts Center.
The goals of the City and the expertise of the consultant team will be brought
together in the refined design program: the uses, needs, and goals of the ideal future
park. The program will form the basis for the final Master Plan design.
We will present design alternatives to the City staff and the public, in meetings with
Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Civic Arts Commissions. Feedback from these
meetings, and from the final presentation to the City Council, will guide our team
throughout the process.
RIC NARD CARSON & ASSOCIATES LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTU 0.E AND PLANNING
PAGE I
