2) Additional survey points needed to update the basemap on the southwest
corner to show existing right turn only lane that was not shown on the
original basemap provided by the City.
3) increase in length of survey along the east leg to accommodate extension
of eastbound acceleration lane.
4) Increase in general scope of overall topo due to the aging of the aerial
topography (additbn of rross section to confirm street cross slope due to
recent overlay, etc.).
5) Additional survey points north leg of the intersection for possible
northbound acceleration lane and for evaluation of proposed
encroachment into Orloff Park to keep U-turning vehicles from crossing
Into northbound right turn only lane.
6} Additional survey points at new conform bcations.
7) Additional survey points to locate existing traffic signal equipment.
KHA has spent additional time modifying the topographic base mapping provided
by the City based on the new survey shots provided by MPS.
Additional Deliverables:
f) Updated topographic mapping with survey points
TASK 3 -PROJECT RESEARCH AND COORDINATION
At the request of the City, KHA will coordinate with Project Land Surveyor and
Landscape Architect to include design of the entry way at Orloff Park.
TASK 4 -CONCEPTUAL DESIGNS
At the request of the City, KHA has prepared two exhibits for the widening of the
east side of Santa Rita Road rarth of Valley Avenue. The widening will allow a
U-turning vehiGe on Santa Rita Road to complete the movement without
encroaching into the northbound acceleration lane provided for the westbound to
northbound right-turn maneuver. One of the exhibits showed moving the curb 3
(three) feet towards the park based on "rule o(thumb" U-rum template end the
second exhibit showed moving the curb 9 (nine) feet towards the park based on
the AutoTURN turning template. Per the meeting on October 2, 21x18, KHA has
refined the second option, the relocetlon of the curb 9 (nine) feet towards the
park, with a striped tighter radius, to slow the westbound to northbound turning
traffic in the vicinity of the crosswalk. The additional scope is as follows:
1) Prepare conceptual plan alternatives for the widening of Santa RNa Road
north of the intersection with Valley.
2) Refine the 9 (nine) feet widening altematrve to slow westbound to
northbound traffic.
3) Refine medians end lane widths to allow for left tum truck movements
without pulling curbed portbn of the median so far from the crosswalk.
K:10~7060007 • Santa Raa at~A VallcylAdminlSaMa Rila Chm`c (Nder IO72-08.doc Page 2 of 5
