Adopted Resolution No. 08-246 endorsing the Alameda County Active Transportation <br />Campaign <br />Finance <br />8. Accepted the Monthly Disbursements and Investment Report for October 2008 <br />9. Adopted Resolution No. 08-247 accepting and approving the Report and Budget of the <br />Pleasanton Downtown Business Improvement District Advisory Board, declaring intent to <br />levy an annual assessment for 2009 and setting the public hearing date for December 16, <br />2008 <br />10. Approve a contract with Active Network in an amount not to exceed of $160,000 to expand <br />the City cashiering system to additional departments and authorized the purchase of up to <br />three server platforms in an amount not to exceed $30,000 <br />Mavor & City Council <br />11. Adopted Resolution No. 08-248 supporting Foothill High School's ONE Club <br />Brenden Lowe, President of ONE Club, said they represent a local chapter of a national <br />campaign, work to spread awareness about poverty in Pleasanton, to think and act globally, and <br />asked those interested to visit their website and join in community activities. He briefly <br />discussed a Starbuck's fundraiser which donates to the ONE fund to help save lives in Africa. <br />Motion: It was m/s by Thorne/Cook-Kallio to approve Consent Calendar as submitted. Public Comment <br />Fred Norman reported that 17 troops were killed in Iraq this month and 14 the previous month. <br />He spoke of Pleasantonians and Tri-Valley people gathering on the second Wednesday of each <br />month in front of the Museum on Main Street. <br />Kathy Dowding reflected on things for which she is eternally grateful at Thanksgiving, hoped <br />that the new President will bring an end to the war in Iraq, and she read the names of 17 <br />soldiers who lost their lives. <br />Jeb Bing, Publisher and Editor of the Pleasanton Weekly, announced their Sixth Annual Holiday <br />Fund and beneficiaries and reported they raised $150,000 last year and with matching funds <br />each recipient was awarded $18,750 for operations <br />Ronald Marovich expressed appreciation for the tree lights decorations by City Hall <br />City Council Minutes 3 December 2, 2008 <br />
