Councilmember Sullivan congratulated colleagues on their re-election and said he looks forward <br />to working with them in the next two years. He also congratulated challengers for running good, <br />honest campaigns, said there was no way he could have been re-elected without the help, <br />support and encouragement from those in the community and his family, felt that the citizen- <br />based, grassroots democracy proved itself as being very strong in Pleasanton and he looks <br />forward to working to maintain and enhance the community. <br />PRESENTATION BY POET LAUREATE MARTHA MELTZER <br />Martha Meltzer, Poet Laureate, introduced Athena Lacos, freshman at Foothill High School, and <br />new Teen Poet Laureate. She said that Athena Lacos and Sarah York would be serving during <br />the school year and presented the poem, "A Call to Serve". <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Hosterman reported that Item 16 has been continued to December 16, 2008. City <br />Manager Fialho called attention to two hand-outs--one relating to Item 4 which is the second <br />reading of the ordinance regarding the Raney project which depicts a more accurate motion by <br />the Council. The second item relates to Item 15; a list of Committee assignments and the <br />associated Resolution. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />Approved regular meeting minutes of November 4, 2008 <br />Community Development <br />Accepted actions of the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission <br />3. Waived second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 1985 approving the application for <br />Planned Unit Development rezoning of two parcels totaling approximately .51 acres from <br />the RM-1,500 (Multiple-Family Residential) District to the PUD-HDR (Planned Unit <br />Development -High Density Residential) District and development plan approval to <br />construct three new residences at 4715, 4715-B, and 4693 Augustine Street <br />Approved plans and specifications, reviewed bids and awarded and authorized the City <br />Manager to execute a construction contract to Lawrence Backhoe Service in the amount <br />of $249,990 for Streetlight Replacement 2008-2009; and authorized the Director of <br />Community Development to approve and execute change orders not to exceed $50,000 <br />5. Accepted public improvements for Tract 7433, Ironwood Development (Ponderosa <br />Homes) and authorized the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion <br />6. Accepted public improvements performed by George Bianchi Construction for Annual <br />Sidewalk Maintenance, CIP No. 075012; authorized the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br />Completion, payment of retention in the amount of $9,611.10, final payment in the amount <br />of $3,077.93 and transfer $15,857.59 to CIP # 085012, Annual Sidewalk Maintenance <br />City Council Minutes 2 December 2, 2008 <br />
