CAMP DRESSER & McKEE INC.

Mr. Robert T. Okamura
December 3, 1985
Page 2

shifted from the Santos Ranch Zone to the Lower Zone. Homes cur-
rently being served by gravity from the Santos Ranch Zone also
will require new individual booster pump systems or water service
improvements prior to shifting to the Lower Zone. We have
determined that there are more homes and that each has unique
needs; therefore, one or two standard designs cannot be utilized.

Estimated Cost of Construction: 50 individual systems at $4,000
each = $200,000

CDM proposes to perform the following tasks:

Task I - Evaluate Restrictions at the Existing Turnouts

Inspect existing Turnout Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 and prepare as-built drawings
of each turnout that will include piping, valves, electrical and vaults.
Determine locations of as-built facilities in relation to property lines,
rights-of-way, and existing utilities. Determine hydraulic losses that
occur at each turnout under various flow rates. Using this above
information, prepare an evaluation of each turnout.

Task 2 - Inventory Existipg Water Services Along Foothill Road

Inspect the water service to each existing home, approximately 50 total,
along Foothill Road from Foothill Road southerly approximately 7 miles to
the last City service near Sunol. At each existing home, the following
items will be determined:

1. Location and size of water meter;
2. Location, size and length of service pipe;
3. Electrical service location and size; and
4. Elevation of the home.

Hydraulic calculations will be performed for each home. For those homes
requiring a booster pump, an evaluation will be made of the existing
electrical service and the capability to provide power to a booster pump.

Task 3 - Meet With the City

Meet with the City and make recon~endations as to what improvements are
needed at each existing turnout and at each existing home along Foothill
Road.

At the conclusion of this meeting, the City will direct CDM to proceed with
the preliminary design of improvements at each of the four existing
turnouts and at each of the 50 homes along Foothill Road (or perhaps less
than 50).
