Okamura December 3, 1985 Page 3 Task 4 - Prepare Preliminary Designs Prepare preliminary designs of a new turnout from the Zone 7 system, a re- locate Foothill Booster Pump Station No. 1, improvements at each of the four existing turnouts, and water service improvements for 50 or less homes along Foothill Road. Included will be land surveys for use in preparing plans for the new turnout, the relocated pump station, and piping at these two sites. Also included will be a geotechnical investigation at the site of the relocated pump station. Land surveys and geotechnical work will not be performed in connection with the individual booster pump systems or water service improvements. Task 5 - Meet with the Cit~, Meet with the City, explain the preliminary designs, and discuss and re- solve any problems in regard to the preliminary designs. Task 6 - Prepare Final Designs. Following approval of the preliminary designs by the City, the final designs for the new turnout, the relocated Foothill Booster Pump Station No. 1, improvements to the four existing turnouts, and individual booster pump systems will be prepared. Task 7 - Prepare Construction Plans, Specifications, and Bid Documents Construction plans will be prepared showing all structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical work relating to the Task 6 designs for the new turnout and the relocated Foothill Booster Pump Station No. 1. Con- struction plans for the improvements to the four existing turnouts and the individual booster pump stations also will be prepared, but will be on small-sized sheets and in less detail than the plans for the new turnouts and the Foothill Booster Pump Station No. 1. The plans will be in detail and in a manner to insure competitive bidding between contractors. Detailed specifications and bid documents will be prepared covering all items of work and materials involved in the construction program. SERVICES DURING CONSTRUCTION Task 8 - Respond to Bid Inquiries Respond to the inquiries and clarification requests of the prospective bidders and suppliers and prepare addenda, as required, to transmit additional information to the bidders or for clarification of the bid documents.
