Commissioner Roberts expressed concern with the color of house due to its visibility. The color is <br />bright and it is a problem. She stated she would vote in favor of staffs recommendation to require that <br />the drainage system be modified and that the home be repainted. <br />Commissioner Sullivan disclosed that he had a conversation with the applicants two weeks ago while <br />looking at the house. He expressed concern with the color of the house due to its visibility. In <br />conclusion, he stated he concurred with and would vote in favor of staffs recommendation to modify <br />the drainage system and repaint the home. <br />Chairperson Kumazan commended the applicants on their presentation. He expressed concern with the <br />safety issue of a failing drainage system and with the color of the house due to visibility. Further, he <br />noted the importance of adhering to guidelines. He stated he would vote in support of staff s <br />recommendation to modify the drainage system and that the home be repainted to a darker color. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Roberts, seconded by Commissioner Sullivan, that the <br />raised drainage ditch and the applied stucco color have not satisfied the conditions of approval <br />and direct staff and the applicants to take the necessary actions to require that the drainage <br />system be modified and that the home be repainted. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Roberts, Sullivan and Chairperson Kumazan <br />NOES: Commissioner Kameny and Maas <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Cooper <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />The motion passed on a 3-2 vote. <br />Resolution No. PC-98-82 was entered and approved as motioned. <br />Commissioner Maas stated she is voting "no" due to the color of the home being acceptable. <br />Commissioner Kameny stated he is voting "no" due to his inability to distinguish the difference between <br />the color required and what is on house. <br />Mr. Iserson informed the applicant that an appeal of the Planning Commission's decision could be made <br />to the City Council within 15 days. <br />Z-98-236, City of Pleasanton <br />Application for design review approval for single-story building additions (totaling 1,808 <br />square feet) and repainting of the existing civic center building located at 200 Old Bernal <br />Avenue.
