Greg Plucker, Associate Planner, referenced a staff report dated August 26, 1998, and highlighted key <br />azeas contained in the report including project description, site plan, circulation, azchitectur, <br />landscaping, public art, and signage. In conclusion, Mr. Plucker stated that staffs recommendation is <br />that Planning Commission approve Case PUD-81-30-76D and PUD-85-8-11D subject to the conditions <br />shown in Exhibit "B". <br />Discussion ensued relating to whether structures are included in FAR, composition of sidewalks, <br />impacts of development on traffic, and the comparable floor area ratio of development at Hacienda Pazk. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WA5 OPENED <br />Mazk Sweeney, 4309 Hacienda Drive, Suite 550, stated his concurrence with the Commission's concern <br />relating to traffic issues. He addressed issues relating to allowable FAR on remaining property and <br />stated that the project is in strict compliance with the Design Guidelines, with building being at top of <br />maximum height range. Further, he provided details of development of the PeopleSoft sites in Dublin. <br />He continued by stating that PeopleSoft has an awazd-winning TSM program which includes carpooling, <br />computer checks, providing the employee with $60 per month to utilize public transportation, <br />guaranteed employee ride-home programs, flex-time schedules and telecommuting for employees, and <br />touch down space for employees to work in any PeopleSoft location. He concluded by stating that the <br />PeopleSoft project meets the established guidelines. <br />David Bartlett, Architect, Gensler Corporation, provided an extensive overview of the architectural <br />design and materials used in the PeopleSoft development. <br />Discussion ensued relating to the colors of the metal screens, landscaping issues, pazking lot, status of <br />right of way, public art, signage issues, places for employees to smoke rather than outside entrances of <br />building, and the projected number of employees at PeopleSoft location. <br />Carole Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, expressed concern with the approval of the PeopleSoft application <br />due to increased traffic in the Pleasanton area. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br />Commissioner Dove stated the PeopleSoft project is a good addition to the City of Pleasanton and <br />development of the PeopleSoft campus will solve the issue of the present facility being in an isolated <br />location. He concluded by speaking in support of project. <br />Commissioner Roberts spoke in support of approval of the PeopleSoft application and expressed <br />approval with the detail given to softening the appeazance of the headquarters building and the <br />interactive landscaping. She commented on her desire to have movable windows in project and spoke in <br />favor of the numbers of people who will use public transportation, especially the younger people who <br />live in San Francisco.
