Commissioner Kumaran noted for the record that while he feels this is a fairly minor issue, he wants
to make a point that developers be encouraged to consider affordable housing very early in every
application process and that staff work with developers to make this happen in the future.
7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
Commissioner Dove noted for the record that he discussed the issue of secondary units with Mr.
Iserson. He stated that the kitchen facility is the distinguishing factor in defining a secondary unit and
not the intent of the unit itself.
Commissioner Dove suggested that the Auf Der Maur application be referred to the Downtown
Pleasanton Association for review, if not already done.
In response to a question by Chair Cooper relating to the status of Coffee Roast Express, Mr. Iserson
described the recent discussions with the applicant and feels he is now making an effort to comply.
Mr. Iserson agreed to keep the Commission updated on this matter.
Commissioner Kumaran stated that he feels the Moller Ranch Development is much to visible from
Stoneridge Drive, east of I-680. Following a brief discussion, Mr. Iserson stated that when the
project was initially reviewed, staff recommended conditions of approval, including tree planting, in
order to minimize the visual impact. He stated that over time, the visual screening will increase as the
trees develop.
8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
a. Future Plannint Calendar
Chair Cooper summarized the Future Planning Calendar.
b.
